About Francisco Kilgore

I am a passionate storyteller who has lived on three continents and worked in four languages across nonprofits and media.

I believe that everyone has a story, and that every story is interesting if you ask the right questions. Through my radio show, Hello Sonoma!, I created almost 100 hour-long weekly radio episodes exploring this principle, researching and interviewing people in eight countries.

Before journalism, I worked to develop and augment services for community members experiencing homelessness for the county and city of Sonoma in California.

I am now pursuing a masters at Columbia Graduate School of Journalism to hone my storytelling skills and to bring my passion to a wider audience.

I’ve also:
- worked as a ranch hand in Wyoming
- translated at the 2016 Rio Olympics
- traveled 4,500 miles by rail in the US & Europe telling stories

In 2023, Francisco was featured on KQED’s show called perspectives which aired throughout the Bay Area. Click the button below to listen to the broadcast.

I was lucky enough to be interviewed by Jean-Charles Boisset on his podcast, JCB Live. Here is that interview.
